IBC have just had a wonderful weekend in Fremantle at the Sweet Adelines International Region 34 Convention.

It’s been a big year for the chorus on many fronts and it was great to cap it off mixing with other singers from around Australia and to present our contest performance package on stage for everyone. We had a relaxed and focused lead-up and then a truly enjoyable time performing. For us the stage time was a celebration of all that we had accomplished this year, even before reaching Convention. Whilst we didn’t reach our score goal, we are more motivated than ever to continue to sing, learn and perform.

It’s been wonderful to be able to have access to and build relationships with so many skilled coaches this year.

Our thanks to:

Emily Moriarty who helped us in the early stages to get the arrangement for our contest up-tune into shape and produced the accurate and wonderful sounding learning tracks for our members; Ali Jamison; Jo Oosterhoff; Nick Schurmann; Liliana Macarone; Ash Schofield; Linda Britts and especially Bec Hewitt who not only coached us on numerous occasions but has gone over and above to help support us in other ways.

Our thanks to everyone involved with organising the event from the SAI Region 34. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes up to and during an event like this and we at IBC are all very grateful for the work you have done.

Last but not least to the International judging panel of Lea Beverley, Corinna Garriock, Kim Vaughn and RenĂ©e Porzel for their skilled adjudication and for the top-notch education you all presented on the Sunday and Monday after the contest. We are very fortunate to have access to this level of knowledge, presented in such a professional, clear and friendly manner.

It’s great to be a Sweet Adeline!
