Kaleidoscope Festival ran from Thursday 9 November to Sunday 12 November 2017. Indian Blue Chorus was honoured to be part of this amazing community event and featured as Night Voices at installation number 16. As well as being part of the nightly installations Indian Blue Chorus was privileged to be asked to sing on the Community Stage on  the Saturday evening, which was the busiest evenings of the weekend long Festival.

Huge thanks to the City of Joondalup for inviting us to take part of this hugely successful and inspiring event.

For our annual retreat Lynne Smith was with us teaching us how to perfectly apply our ‘face’ and to perfectly present that face on stage (and, of course, the rest of the body too)!

WOW we can hardly believe we are THREE YEARS OLD!

Where does the time go?

Indian Blue Chorus chartered on October 7th 2014 and to celebrate this wondrous event annually, the Chorus members decided they would like to have the motto of “Indian Blue Chorus Empowers Communities.”

To this end we have sought out local groups that we could donate to.

This year Zonta House is our beneficiary, Zonta House Women’s Refuge provides accommodation for women over the age of 18 years (without their children), who are experiencing family and domestic violence/homelessness and crisis in their lives. The member’s provided personal care items for the house to share with its residents

Making Our Mark on Denmark

“Make our Mark on Denmark” was our catch cry for the long weekend in June for Indian Blue Chorus. We were invited to take part in the Denmark Festival of Voice where 80+ acts came together in a festival of voice.

Our journey started on Friday, with most of us traveling down from Perth by bus (6 hours). Indian Blue put on a well-attended “Barbershopping Disney (or not)” show on the Saturday and held a successful” Singing & Ringing in the Barbershop style” workshop on the Sunday. In between, members attended a range of wonderful events, including supporting our men’s chorus – Vocal Evolution. On Sunday afternoon we went over to Albany where Cathy Rainey & Donna Markovic opened their home to us!Steps
